Honda Civic Type R hatchback kept its power

The new generation Civic Type R did not change conceptually. The model is supercharged with a manual gearbox and front-wheel drive system. The turbo engine 2.0 VTEC was borrowed from the previous model. The engineers reworked the software and raised the output up to 320 forces at 6500 rpm. As for the torque, it is the same equal to 400 Nm at 2500-4500 rpm. The power unit works with a six-step mechanics. The Japanese car makers do not disclose the dynamic characteristics of the novelty, although an improved power, reduced curb weight and optimized aerodynamics should positively affect the car dynamics.

The carmakers have chosen the New York auto show, which opens for the public on April 14, for presentation of the plug-in hybrid and a purely electric Clarity. As the Japanese car makers say, the Plug-In Hybrid model, the series leader, will be able to move more than 64 km without starting an internal combustion engine.
